Catheterisation (Male/Female/Suprapubic)

Offered to Registered Nurses (with current NMC registration) to teach Catheterisation techniques and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to be able to use this skill within the workplace.

Advanced Medicines Management and Audits

A comprehensive, enhanced training day to support, encourage and underpin ‘safe practice’ for all elements of Medicines Management, including record keeping and auditing and to further develop senior staff to fully understand their accountabilities and responsibilities and clinical governance.

Tracheostomy Care

To underpin knowledge in relation to the safe management of tracheostomy. The use of practical equipment offers delegates the opportunity to practise correct technique and procedure in a safe, risk-free environment. This underpinning knowledge must be consolidated within the workplace for the candidate to become competent.

Spinal Injury

To increase skills and confidence and to address the importance of person centred care, to be able to support the client in the management of their spinal injury

Tissue Viability, Pressure Area and Wound Care

​To promote positive skin and pressure area care. To improve staffs' confidence and knowledge, to help maintain healthy, intact skin, prevent deterioration and encourage wound healing and know how to correctly document actions as required.

Hydration and M.U.S.T*. & IDDSI*

To gain a good understanding of Nutrition and Hydration, malnutrition and how to undertake screening using the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) and IDDSI for supporting someone with swallowing difficulties.

Syringe Driver Training (McKinley T34)

To provide Registered Nurses with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to ensure safe administration of medicines via the continuous subcutaneous infusion route.

Dysphagia, IDDSI & MUST

To support nurses and senior staff to be able to assess and meet the nutritional needs of our clients, supporting a person-centered approach to a healthy diet (including M.U.S.T. & IDDSI)

Ventilation and Humidification (CPAP)

This course supports staff who will be working with clients who are supported by mechanical ventilation. Practical demonstration will be included to increase knowledge, skills and confidence. Competency will need to be assessed and evidenced in the workplace following completion of the session.

Phlebotomy

To teach the candidate the correct, safe way to take blood from a patient and demonstrate effective use of the relevant equipment.

Verification of Expected Adult Death (VoEAD)

To enable participants to have the knowledge, skills, qualities and competencies necessary to correctly verify expected adult death.
