Role of the Care Worker

To help care and support staff understand their role and responsibilities within this specific work environment, in order to achieve a high standard of care delivery for the individual(s) they support.

Safeguarding Adults

To assist staff and volunteers to understand and recognise abuse and to know what to do when concerns arise; to enable participants to understand that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and gain awareness of organisational and local policies

Safeguarding Children and Young People

To have an understanding of reporting procedures in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and CQC requirements, as set down by the NSCB and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

Basic Life Support and First Aid

 To teach the candidate to competently perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and chest compressions on a patient who has stopped breathing and whose heart is no longer beating.

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Level 3

This course is suitable for candidates who require an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Certificate, to help employers comply with the law as stated within the Health and Safety at Work Act. The course is approved and accredited through Highfield Qualifications.

Fire Safety & Evacuation and/or Fire Marshall Training

To raise awareness/update the candidate in fire safety procedures including horizontal evacuation and many other strategies and risk assessments, necessary equipment and considers P.E.E.P.S and all other necessary precautions/preventative measures required for safety within the workplace.

Food Safety Level 2

To enable the candidate to fully understand the principles of food safety and hygiene and how they should be applied in the workplace to control food safety risks.

Food Safety, Nutrition and Hydration

To help equip staff working within the health and social care sector to meet the food safety, nutrition and hydration needs of our clients, supporting a person-centered approach to a healthy diet.

Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding/ Liberty Protection Safeguards 

For managers & seniors to gain an understanding of the full implications and necessities in adhering to the current safeguards and reporting systems in relation to capacity and deprivation of liberty.

Medicines Management

To offer a well-defined programme which will raise awareness of medicines for workers and encourage ‘safe practice

Moving and Handling and Falls Prevention

To develop staffs’ competence and improve knowledge and confidence in manual handling and up to date information for falls prevention and post falls management.
