To provide up-to-date information and increase knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (updated 2007) and to have the opportunity to discuss some of the proposed reforms.

Behaviour Support and De-escalation

To provide an understanding of the presentation of behaviours and ways in which staff can improve the care and the quality of life for individuals presenting behaviours that 'challenge' or behaviours of concern.

Self Harm and Suicide Prevention

To increase staff awareness and confidence and to discuss strategies and techniques for talking and working with people who may be at potential risk of self harm and suicide.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

For staff to gain confidence in working with individuals with dependency issues with an increased understanding and knowledge and thereby reducing stigma and prejudice.

Motivational Interviewing (Enhanced)

To consolidate and extend knowledge of motivational interviewing strategies and increase confidence to assist with application into practice.

Motivational Interviewing (Introduction)

To introduce the concepts and principles of motivational interviewing and explore the differences between traditional and motivational interviewing approaches.

Personality Disorders

To gain an understanding of PD, address some of the challenges that staff face when working with individuals and discuss management strategies and helping techniques.

Recovery and Well-being

To gain knowledge and skills in recovery and wellbeing approaches as a means of building proactive relationships to promote and strengthen recovery. To define and discuss well-being and how we can work collaboratively to promote well-being for the people we support

Hoarding Disorder & Self-Neglect

To improve understanding and awareness of self-neglect and hoarding and all potential associated behaviours and assist staff to action plan for future working.

An Introduction to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

To gain an understanding  of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and to understand the parameters for staff and the limitations within these.

Conflict Resolution

To discuss management strategies and offer support and guidance to senior staff and team leaders who may be working in difficult situations where conflict is a challenge.

An Introduction to Dialectal Behaviour Therapy

An introduction to DBT and how DBT techniques may be utilised by staff working in a person-centred way with individuals with certain mental health conditions.
