Understanding and Managing Clients with Neurological Illness training

To gain an understanding of what neurological disease/illness is
To look at each condition and gain an awareness of:-
How each disease presents (and the potential differing presentations within each individual condition)
Signs and symptoms
Diagnosis
Disease prognosis
Treatment and management of each condition (to include appropriate and effective
communication methods)
To understand some of the similarities and differences between the conditions
To be able to gain extra information and support for staff, sufferers, friends, relatives/carers: National Department of Health Guidelines, Support Groups and Associations

This half-day course is suitable for all Care staff and offers a basic overview of 3 (or 4) neurological conditions

Duration: May be offered as a 3 or 4 hour Course (depending on whether 3 or 4 neurological conditions are included)

Who should attend: All Care Staff (recommended group size maximum 12-14)
