Dignity in Care - Promoting Privacy and Dignity

This half day course aims to discuss and understand what privacy, dignity and respect mean to our clients/service users and how care staff can actively support and promote dignity within their care environment.

MODULE OBJECTIVES

  • To discuss what “ privacy” and “dignity”  mean and to understand the importance of respecting privacy and dignity
  • To understand the importance of respect, confidentiality and behaviour
  • To be aware of permission and discussion – not “assumption”
  • To understand the client/service user’s physical and psychological needs
  • To have an understanding of infection control issues
  • To be aware of relevant legislation: human rights, Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • To look at ways we can actively promote dignity in care for our clients and service users
